First make a shortcut onto desktop. Then drag it onto the panel. That leaves you with a shortcut on the desktop. You cannot delete it since then it will also disapear from the panel. The trick you migth use is to hide the short-cut. [use rigth-clicking] Then go to Configuration screen/Map-options/General tab. At the bottom part select hide hidden folders.
well how do i add stuff? drag and drop is not working for me, not even if i run compitability mode and as administrator. any one else experienced this problem and solved it? if please explain detailed step to step.
Hi, it's just excellent stuff! Wonderful dock .. works pretty well on my Dell notebook with Windows 7, but unfortunately I cannot remove one icon of the dock and that's the first one that comes with the dock.. I'm talking about "vaio" icon.. Any ideas how to remove it guys? Thanks!
Well, I was a little too eager to share what I've discovered... Anyway, I use the config file of a friend who just bought a vpcj118fx/b (it's so sexy to use seven by touch) and manage to find how and where. In case you don't have a VAIO and the Sony applications you can with some editing make some 2 level entries like the VAIO icon but I couldn't find where and how the delimiter/splitter thing . I edited the config files and commentted it but for ease your way I did it in word to put comments in color, so here's a link to the edited file but as deviant art thinks it's spam, we'll try to trick it : h t t p : / / r a p i d s h a r e . c o m / f i l e s / 4 3 1 0 5 7 0 1 2 / V A I O _ G a t e . r t f (don't forget to delete all spaces between letters and numbers)
The structure is quite simple. First, you have entries with sub-menus : <Item Type="ItemList" DisplayId="a:a" UGID="" Id="1" Area="" Code="" SubLayer="YourGroupTextEntryHere"> (I didn't test further but the DISPLAYID="a:a" and ID="1" have to be incremented for more than one entry, i.e : DisplayId="b:b" and Id="2", etc...) <Text>VAIO</Text> <Icon>LocationOfYourIconHere.ico</Icon> <SupportTouch>false</SupportTouch> (i'm pretty sure this can be removed for non touch screen screen) <SupportRemocon>false</SupportRemocon> <Items> (start of your sub-menu here) <Item Type="Application" DisplayId="a:n"> <Text>NameOfYourFirstSub-entryItemHere</Text> <IconIndex>-1</IconIndex> <Tip>ToolTipHere</Tip> <WorkDirectory>DirectoryOfYourProgramHere</WorkDirectory> <Target>CompletePathOfYourProgramHereWithTheExeExtension</Target> <Parameters></Parameters> <Icon>CompletePAthToYourProgramWithExtensionForItsIconOrCompletePAthToYourIconFile</Icon> </Item> </Items> </Item>
and for standard entries, you just have to drag 'n drop them then edit just a little bit :
well i edited the vaio gate file in the %app data\roaming\sony cprporation\ folder..... it took a while to first understand --- REMOVE pic, music, n video icon under VAIO GATE (for non-sony user's only)
I was able to remove the music, pictures n videos icon from the VAIO GATE sub-bar by just deleting the appropriate fields in the same file..... (coz actually they were not working)....
---- CHANGING ICONS of folders and shortcuts
for all the shortcuts that we place the icons are available by command <displayicon>D:\example<\displayicon> i"m able to change the individual icon and application icons in this manner...
but in case of VAIO GATE icon the same thing doesn"t happen ---- RSS
to view RSS in the vaio bar simply add rss in your IE... restart vaio gate n u'll see rss instead of the green down arrow icon on dock ---- just see around more you'll find more n more options to edit... so it is a bit customizable.... also help me if u can fix VAIO GATE ICON coz it appears to be missing n showing default missing window icon.. so guys plz mod the file and make it more useful thanx...
